Jewellery Care Information
It is important to take care of your jewellery to keep it beautiful. Here are some recommendations to help preserve RIBAS jewellery pieces for generations.
Jewellery Care
Don't forget to remove your jewellery before:
- Going to bed (except for string bracelets and piercings). Jewellery needs to rest, too!
- Taking a shower and going to the sauna, pool, sea, lake, etc., as salts and chlorine in the water can damage the jewellery or parts of it.
- Engaging in physical activities (sports, house cleaning, gardening, etc.), as some gemstones are sensitive to impact and pressure, and precious metals can change shape.
Jewellery Storage
Avoid direct contact with perfumes, body lotions, hair dyes, hair sprays, or other chemicals, as precious metals can react to the chemicals in cosmetics.
Protect jewellery from moisture, direct sunlight, extreme heat, or cold, as some gemstones and precious metals can change colour.
Try storing jewellery separately, in a box or pouch, to prevent scratching and tangling.
Jewellery Cleaning
Emeralds are very sensitive and need to be protected from strong chemicals, ultrasonic baths, and heat, as certain substances and conditions can cause them to change colour or result in other forms of damage. We invite you to clean the emeralds in your jewellery only at our jeweller on Stiklių Str. 7, Vilnius.
We invite you to visit your nearest RIBAS jewellery store every 3–6 months to clean your jewellery for free. You should also periodically check the clasps of gold jewellery, especially earrings, with a jeweller to avoid losing them. Our jeweller is located on Stiklių Str. 7, Vilnius. Even your jewellery needs to enjoy SPA treatments sometimes, too!
If our jeweller determines that the jewellery is damaged due to improper care, the warranty for the repair does not apply. The warranty also does not cover lost jewelry parts, as this is considered the user's responsibility. The warranty typically applies to manufacturing defects or flaws that arise from the production process, but not to parts that are lost or damaged due to the user's actions. However, we will always look for and offer ways to repair your jewellery!
Jewellery Warranty
A RIBAS jewellery piece is the result of long and diligent work, combining craftsmanship, professionalism, and experience. RIBAS jewellery products have a warranty of up to 5 years from the date of purchase, valid only with a warranty-confirming document – the original receipt.
String bracelets have a 1-year warranty with the option to renew the string during this period for free.
Puffed gold products have a 2-year warranty. Puffed gold items are wonderful, but they need to be worn carefully. If a puffed gold item is dented or otherwise damaged, it cannot be restored. The size of puffed gold rings is not adjustable. We can renew the surface of the ring by individually assessing the cost of the service for your ring.
The size of the ring can be changed for free only for new, unworn products. Not all ring sizes are adjustable. Have you decided to wear the ring on a different finger? We can help you with this. Go to your nearest RIBAS jewellery store where we’ll assess the cost of service for your ring.
Jewellery SPA treatments are free. At a RIBAS jewellery store close to you, we will clean the jewellery purchased from us while you enjoy a cup of your favourite coffee or other preferred drink.
Earrings
The "Cuff" earring is inserted into the upper part of the ear and slid downwards. It is necessary to remove "Cuff" earrings before going to bed, as sleeping in them may deform the shape and diameter of the earrings.
"Piercing" earrings consist of two parts: a stud with a diamond and a tube. To correctly insert a "Piercing" earring, insert a tube into the ear from the back and then screw the diamond stud part of the earring from the front.
Hoop earrings have sensitive clasps. To correctly fasten and unfasten this type of earring, gently press the clasp down with a fingertip or nail before pulling or pushing. It is necessary to remove hoop earrings before going to bed, as sleeping in them may deform the shape of the earring, damage the clasp, or cause the loss of stones.
The "Alpha" clasps of earrings are fastened with the convex side towards the back of the earring. Before pushing the clasp towards the earring, it is necessary to press the clasp "ears" on both sides.
Tennis Bracelets and Collar Necklaces
The clasps of tennis bracelets and collar necklaces must be fastened with great care to avoid damaging the clasp mechanism. Tennis bracelets and collar necklaces have two clasps. First, unfasten the first side clasp, then press the button of the second clasp before unfastening the piece. It is important not to pull or push the tennis bracelet or collar necklace without pressing the button on the clasp. It is necessary to remove the tennis bracelet or collar necklace before going to bed, as sleeping in them may deform the shape of the jewellery, break links, damage the clasp, or even cause the loss of stones.
